Trinity is one of the best Division III baseball programs in the country, and it is recruiting right now.
They are not only good on the field they are outstanding in the classroom.
The Coach:
Head Coach Tim Scannell has run this program since 1999 and ranks among the top-10 active D3 coaches by winning percentage, with over 800 career wins.
He led Trinity to the 2016 D3 National Championship and three College World Series appearances (2015, 2016, and 2022), has been named SCAC Coach of the Year nine times, and won Region X Coach of the Year again in 2025.
Roughly 25 of his players have signed pro contracts.
If your goal is to be developed, win, and get a great education, this is a proven place to do it.

The ballpark
The Tigers play at Trinity Baseball Field in San Antonio, a modern venue with an artificial turf surface that was renovated in 2022. Capacity sits around 1,000, so it plays intimate and loud when the team is rolling.
Roster turnover (why they are recruiting)
Significant graduation is coming, which is exactly what opens the door for the classes below.
That is a lot of innings and at-bats leaving the program, especially in the infield and on the mound.
One important warning
Do not email the coaching staff to tell them what you think they need. A message like "I see you're losing a bunch of infielders, so you need me at shortstop" almost always backfires. Coaches do not respond well to being told their own roster situation, and it reads as presumptuous. Use this snapshot privately, to decide whether Trinity fits you. Then reach out the right way: a polished introduction, a completed recruiting questionnaire, camp attendance, and genuine interest in the school itself.
Is Trinity a fit for you?
Academics: Trinity is selective. It admits about 25.9% of applicants, the average admitted GPA is around 3.80, and the student to faculty ratio is 9:1. You need to be a strong student, not only a strong player.
Talent level: This is a national-caliber D3 roster. Come ready to compete for a spot on a team that expects to win championships.
Setting: A private liberal arts school of about 2,518 undergraduates in San Antonio, with a close, academically serious campus culture.
Cost: Tuition runs about $56,496 per year. Trinity awards significant scholarships and aid to most students, so the actual cost families pay is often meaningfully lower.
Next step:
If Trinity looks like a fit, do not sit on it. Schedule a call with me here. Spots at a program like this (and others) fill quickly, and the staff is actively building the 2027 and 2028 classes right now.

About Alex
Meet your college baseball recruiting specialist: Alex Swenson.
As a high school baseball player, I navigated the college recruiting process all on my own. Despite average statistics, I landed a spot on a Division-1 baseball team Jacksonville University, where I became a 3-time team captain. Post-college, I became a D1 coach, scout, and recruiter at Georgetown University and Ole Miss, where we won an SEC championship.
After experiencing the process as both recruit and recruiter, I’ve successfully dissected the best strategies to connect with college coaches and draw offers from them.
Receive professional direction from Alex himself until your son commits to his desired school. A step-by-step action plan will be provided with strategic small-group coaching meetings every 2 weeks to ensure we are making progress. Included is a baseball networking platform that connects him to coaches, optimizes his exposure to scouts, alerts him to college camps and showcases, and MUCH MORE.
