I spoke with the UCLA baseball coaching staff this past week, and there's a lot of excitement and momentum around the program.
The Bruins have finished recruiting the 2027 class, are still actively recruiting 2028s, and are currently evaluating 2029s.
With a national championship, a strong history of developing professional players, and a new chapter in the Big Ten, UCLA continues to be one of the premier programs in college baseball.
Here's a quick look at the recruiting classes we're currently tracking:
2027 | 11 Commits (Finished)
Ricardo Hurtado - OF
Grafton Marshall-Inman - RHP
John Sullivan - 1B
Aiden Rae - OF
Coen Sardinha - SS

2028 | 7 Commits (Still recruiting)

2029 | Actively evalualting 2029s
UCLA already has 18 known commitments across the 2027 and 2028 classes, and is tracking 2029s as we speak. This gives families an early look at how the recruiting classes are taking shape.

52 wins. Two Big Ten titles. One historic season.
UCLA finished 52-8 in 2026, tying its program record for wins and putting together the best regular season in school history.
And the conference results were just as impressive.
28-2 in Big Ten play
Back-to-back Big Ten regular-season championships in 2025 and 2026
2026 Big Ten Tournament champions
No. 1 overall national seed in the NCAA Tournament
That tournament championship was something special, too.
UCLA won three consecutive walk-off games, including an 11-inning victory over Oregon in the championship game.
Think about that. Three straight games with the pressure on, and three straight times the Bruins found a way to win.
John Savage has built something special.
Savage was named the 2026 Skip Bertman Coach of the Year, one of college baseball's highest coaching honors.
And his success goes well beyond one season.
He led UCLA to the 2013 national championship, brought the Bruins back to the College World Series in 2025, and followed that with a historic 2026 regular season.
This is a program that knows what winning looks like, and has a head coach who's proven he can sustain it.
Why UCLA should be on your radar
Beyond baseball, UCLA offers a nationally recognized education, a major university experience in Los Angeles, and the opportunity to compete against some of the country's best college programs.
But here's something I want parents to remember:
A school doesn't have to be recruiting your athlete today for it to be worth learning about today.
With UCLA already building its 2027 and 2028 classes, families with younger athletes should be paying attention to how the program recruits and when coaches begin identifying players.
And with UCLA's academic selectivity, getting an early understanding of both the baseball and admissions expectations is especially important.
For an athlete with strong academics and the ability to compete at the highest level of college baseball, UCLA is absolutely worth exploring.
That's where we can help.
Inside the Premier Athletes Baseball Recruiting Program, we help families identify the right college opportunities, understand recruiting timelines, and get their athlete in front of the right college coaches.

About Alex
Meet your college baseball recruiting specialist: Alex Swenson.
As a high school baseball player, I navigated the college recruiting process all on my own. Despite average statistics, I landed a spot on a Division-1 baseball team Jacksonville University, where I became a 3-time team captain. Post-college, I became a D1 coach, scout, and recruiter at Georgetown University and Ole Miss, where we won an SEC championship.
After experiencing the process as both recruit and recruiter, I’ve successfully dissected the best strategies to connect with college coaches and draw offers from them.
Receive professional direction from Alex himself until your son commits to his desired school. A step-by-step action plan will be provided with strategic small-group coaching meetings every 2 weeks to ensure we are making progress. Included is a baseball networking platform that connects him to coaches, optimizes his exposure to scouts, alerts him to college camps and showcases, and MUCH MORE.
